Join Ilay den Boer, his grandmother and fifteen other passengers in the bus in which they lived from 1943 until 1948 and fled from Lithuania to Israel. In this bus, where he is living now, he continues on the eternal Jewish journey. In search of the significance of the past in the here and now. By examining the historical context with the audience, Ilay endeavours to say something meaningful about Israel’s senseless war. Janken en Schieten is the second step in Het Beloofde Feest series of the Dutch/Israeli theatre maker Ilay den Boer. In this study, Ilay den Boer examines himself, his family, the state of Israel and Jewish history.
